“We believe that Parramatta’s creative culture is underestimated and hidden.”
Old Eyes New Eyes Design Team

A Space for Urban Follies is a whole of city “meta-strategy” for approaching and improving small-scale, forgotten parts of the public domain. The designers developed a series of design interventions that could be applied to enhance the sensory experience and understanding of places. The artworks focussed on the addition of elements of light, sound, landscape and urban furniture. The strategy was tested on a number of demonstration sites which included an alley across the road from Bicentennial Square, Macquarie Lane, and an art playground.
